Traveling Eats

For those unaware, I was recently in Belize for a great trip kayaking the barrier reef. While I love to blog food and restaurants, I spent more time taking pictures of the scenery and adventures and not food. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and tastiness of the food. They serve a lot of great fresh fish and a staple of rice and beans. All of our meals were varied and home cooked while out on the islands. Our two favorite culinary items from Belize are the local beer, Belikin Beer and the local hot sauce, Marie Sharp's. We put the hot sauce on everything and drank plenty. I am happy to report the food kept up with the amazing adventure and beautiful surroundings. (Want pics? Go Here)

As for the food, here are some of the meals we enjoyed:

Quesadillawith rice and beans and slaw

fish, mashed potatoes, veggies, rice with shrimp

Simple breakfast, whole grain toast with banana

Same cafe, Erica ordered eggs with toast

Yum Conch fritters

BBQ Chicken, rice and beans
